Transformation Process
Acquisition of a key parcel of underutilized land in the northern Spanish city of Vigo, with the purpose of transforming it and sparking urban regeneration by removing barriers to mobility and implementing sustainable green spaces in order to benefit the city and local community.
Carry out an urban upgrade through a sustainable mixed-use development that transforms an urban void into strategic public spaces that facilitate movement, stimulating the growth of commercial businesses and public services in the area while also benefiting the city as a whole.
Dedicate 35% of the land to creating civic spaces, build a public parking lot, and a 5,000 m² new plaza with open sea views. Promote biodiversity, curb sources of pollution, making carbon neutrality a top priority. Improve mobility and accessibility by addressing gaps and barriers in public infrastructure. Preserve the area’s heritage by incorporating historic elements into the project.
First project in Europe to secure a LEED Neighbourhood Development v4 Platinum rating. Improved quality of life for the local community and the local ecosystem through new green spaces. Increased pedestrian accessibility through new roads, expanded sidewalks, new elevators to connect the city vertically, and new commercial hub stimulating new economic activity.
