The Challenge
Transform a plot of land that blocks accessibility and introduces pollution into the neighborhood to instead create a mixed-use development, generating new urban services to benefit the community and attract commercial business interests and new residents.
The Approach
Designate an additional 10,000 square meters as green space and transfer 50% of the land to public ownership for public housing, recreational areas, and public services. Improve accessibility and facilitate urban mobility by creating more public streets and focusing on urban integration, Create a resilient and carbon-neutral development.
The Outcome
Transformed the plot from a physical barrier into a well-connected hub. Created new infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, improving residential quality of life and access to commercial units, thus boosting local economic activity.
